Charity and community

How we are giving back as a business.

Continuing our advent tradition

As has become something of a tradition now, the Craven Street Wealth team have again collected items throughout November and early December through a reverse advent calendar to donate to different calls for support.

Supporting Kent’s International Arts Festival

We are proud to support a year-round programme of participation engaging over 3,000 people of all ages in creative projects, workshops and work experience opportunities run by the small, but industrious Canterbury Festival team who are dedicated to bringing the best in arts and culture opportunities to Canterbury.

Kentish wine tasting sponsored by Craven Street Wealth

A glorious summer evening was enjoyed by attendees an event from by Furley Page solicitors at Macknade Food Village, with Craven Street Wealth sponsoring the showcasing of several Kentish grown and made wines close to our Canterbury office – supporting the British wine industry, local produce and vineyards such as Simpsons Wine Estate, Oastbrook Estate and Brenley Wine Estate.

Getting pretty muddy at Race for Life

Several members of the Craven Street Wealth team joined thousands of supporters raising money for life saving research by taking part in Race For Life as they ran, climbed and crawled their way around the Pretty Muddy obstacle course in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Graylaw House Valentines Food Donation

With the cost of living crisis, many are experiencing financial hardship and turning to food banks for support.

With so much demand, the Canterbury & District Food Bank posted a Valentines appeal to replenish their empty shelves.

Craven Street Wealth and other residents of Canterbury’s Graylaw House responded by collecting and donating an assortment of food and other household items.

Reverse Advent Calendar in aid of Canterbury & District Food Bank

The Craven Street Wealth team were joined by other residents of Graylaw House – Canterbury Business Improvement District (BID) and Brachers in donating to a reverse advent calendar throughout the month of November.

A reverse advent calendar focuses on giving and helping those in need with everyday items such as canned goods and toiletries plus the odd treat.

These were then provided to Canterbury and District Food Bank.

Supporting Pilgrims Hospices

Our team sponsored a hole and took part in a fabulous round of golf at the Cave Hotel and Golf Resort, helping to raise more than £5,000 for local hospice care in East Kent.

This could cover the entire cost of a community care team for 24 hours, which means end-of-life care specialists can continue to provide support to patients and their families when and where they need it.

Volunteering

We believe that everyone should have an opportunity to support the causes that are most dear to them. Our volunteering policy provides every employee with access to a bank of 10 volunteering hours per year to do exactly that.

Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion

We were pleased to sponsor Canterbury Pride for the first time as the Craven Street Wealth group in June 2022.

Team members from across the business participated in the event celebrating diversity and inclusion, which has now grown to more than 25,000 revellers.

Team Mindcraft - Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge

We sponsored Team Mindcraft in their enormous feat to row the Atlantic, which began in December 2021 and saw 35 other teams compete.

Team Mindcraft raised £158,000, with all donations going to stem4 - a charity committed to supporting teenage mental health.

William Cook - Office2Office Challenge

We also sponsored William Cook who was competing in The Castel Office2Office 3-day cycle ride from London to Amsterdam.

The event raised £300,000 for Cure Parkinson’s, a charity dedicated to research into finding a cure for the disease.
