Several members of the Craven Street Wealth team joined thousands of supporters over the weekend raising money for life-saving research by taking part in Race For Life.

The ‘Radical Runners’ team was made up of Ruth Tomkin Munro, Nick Dodd, Amy Jones, Roe Davis and Karen Airey, along with her son and daughter. They all completed a Pretty Muddy 5k obstacle course at Mote Park, Maidstone where they ran, climbed, crawled and slid their way around, cheered on by Chartered Financial Planner, Georgia Leahy and her young daughter in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Ruth comments that “It’s fair to say it wasn’t easy, the heat at times was full on, and the space hopper obstacle in particular was somewhat hard on the knees, at least for the older members of the team!” – a sentiment echoed by Karen Airey.

“It was a lot of fun though and more importantly, we raised £920.63 including gift aid, which is way more than we had hoped for”.

Roe Davis shares “It was such a blast doing the Pretty Muddy course with the team. I have been doing the Race For Life for the last 15 years as this a charity which means a great deal to me as it does for a lot of people”.

With 1 in 2 people now being diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, the work performed by Cancer Research UK is crucial in spotting cancer earlier, finding its weakness, providing support, searching for innovative discoveries, delivering treatments, and keeping cancer in remission.

Over 10 million participants have taken part in Race for Life events since 1994 fundraising for Cancer Research. Race for Life alone has raised over £940 million towards life-saving cancer research since it began 30 years ago and thanks to fundraising, Cancer Research UK helped develop radiotherapy which helps over 130,000 in the UK.
