Personally
Having studied throughout his working life, Bernard aims to write a book in his specialist area – the material culture of World War 1. He has a large private collection himself which is probably one of the foremost in the UK.
Although some of his proudest accomplishments have been business related, it is his family that he is most proud of and on an ideal weekend he can be found with his daughters, their husbands and his grandchildren.
Bernard also feels particularly strong about supporting live theatre – the RSC, the National Theatre, Donmar Warehouse and is a Patron of the Royal Shakespeare Company
