Craven Street Wealth Sponsors Canterbury City Race Weekend 2026

Craven Street Wealth is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the City Race European Tour as it arrives in Canterbury from 22–24 May 2026 – an event that promises to bring energy, competition and community spirit to the city.

Delivered in partnership with Saxons Orienteering Club, the Canterbury race offers a distinctive take on the sport through “urban orienteering.” This blends the pace of a traditional running event with the strategy of navigation, challenging participants to use a map and compass to locate a series of checkpoints, or “controls,” across the city in the fastest possible time.

The Canterbury stage is expected to attract around 350 participants, making it one of the strongest turnouts on the European Tour. Alongside the core orienteering races, the weekend also features 5K and 5-mile running events, broadening its appeal to runners of all levels.

What sets this event apart is its setting. Each course is carefully designed to showcase Canterbury’s rich heritage, guiding competitors through some of its most historic landmarks, including Canterbury Cathedral, Westgate Towers and St Augustine’s Abbey.

A Full Weekend of Racing

The race begins on Friday evening with a prologue event at 6pm, starting from Canterbury Christ Church University. This technical sprint through the city streets sets the tone for the weekend ahead.

On Sunday, the action continues at the University of Kent with a fast-paced double sprint event, expected to feature some of the region’s top competitors, including South East Sprint champions.

Beyond the Race

Beyond the competition, the City Race weekend will transform Canterbury into a vibrant hub of activity, with music, live commentary and a celebratory atmosphere for participants and spectators alike.

Craven Street Wealth is proud to support an event that not only promotes sporting excellence but also highlights the unique character and history of Canterbury.

Brian Henry from the Canterbury City Race says “We’re delighted to have Craven Street Wealth supporting the Canterbury City Race 2026. As a highly regarded business with a strong presence across Kent, their involvement reflects the growing scale and profile of the event. With a significant turnout expected, their generous support makes a big difference to us delivering an event of real quality for the city and its visitors.”

We wish all participants the very best and look forward to being part of this memorable community occasion.
