As part of our Kent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, our team recently came together to support the Canterbury Food Bank by organising a food donation collection aimed at helping local individuals and families facing food insecurity.
Over the weeks of December, the Kent team spent their spare time generously contributing a wide range of non-perishable food items. The donation effort was met with strong engagement across the team, resulting in a substantial donation, which our CSR volunteers, Brooke Thompson, Vicky Tuffen and Sarah Bryant have now delivered to the Canterbury Food Bank.
The Canterbury Food Bank provides three-day emergency food parcels to individuals and families experiencing short-term crisis across Canterbury, Whitstable, Herne Bay, and surrounding villages. Over the past 12 months, the charity has distributed nearly 124,000 meals, supporting 4,900 children and 8,800 adults. Established as a community project in 2011 and registered as a charity in August 2013, the Canterbury Food Bank works to prevent and relieve poverty and financial hardship within the Canterbury City Council district. While providing essential emergency food supplies, the organisation also offers guidance on local support services and actively campaigns on issues related to poverty, working both independently and in partnership with other charities and organisations.
As a company, we are proud of the compassion and generosity demonstrated by our team. Initiatives such as this reflect our values and highlight the positive impact that can be achieved when we work together to support our community.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to the collection, as well as to the Canterbury Food Bank for the vital work they continue to do in supporting those in need.
