On behalf of its team members and valued partners, Craven Street Wealth was proud to present a cheque for £5,041 to its Kent Regional Charity of the Year for 2025, 21 Together, marking the culmination of fundraising activity over the past year.
The cheque was presented on Sunday 8 February by Director and Head of Distribution, Tim Maakestad, and Head of Business Development & Marketing, Daniel Robertson, at WonderWorks Margate – home to Hornby Hobbies and 21 Together’s new Margate hub. Families supported by the charity, including children, parents, carers and support providers, were invited to enjoy a day exploring the museum, with representatives from Craven Street Wealth and the Thanet Freemasons each presenting donations following remarks from the charity’s Trustees.
While 21 Together was selected as the Kent region’s charity of the year, fundraising support came from colleagues, partners and clients across the wider firm and all six regions. Throughout 2025, teams in Kent organised a series of activities including a sponsored 21km for 21 Together walk, an “odd sock day” to raise awareness of the extra chromosome associated with Down’s syndrome, and the launch of the firm’s first ever Quiz of the Year.
The firm also received valued support from professional partners and clients who contributed to the final total.
21 Together is a local, independent charity supporting individuals with Down’s syndrome and their families across East Kent. The charity provides a wide range of services designed to support development, independence and inclusion from early years through to adulthood. These include specialist educational and therapy sessions, speech and language support, social and life-skills activities, family support networks and advocacy to help ensure individuals with Down’s syndrome can access opportunities and thrive within their communities.
The organisation is not government-funded and relies on fundraising, donations and partnerships to continue delivering its programmes. Support from local businesses and the wider community plays a crucial role in sustaining its work and enabling families to access consistent, specialist support close to home.
Craven Street Wealth also extended its thanks to Deputy Lieutenant Clive Stevens and Julie Stitchbury, Partnerships Manager at 21 Together, who joined colleagues for part of the sponsored 21km walk earlier in the year, and to Hornby Hobbies and WonderWorks for hosting Sunday’s event and providing a welcoming setting for families and supporters to come together.
21 Together Trustee & Patron, Sinead Ainsworth, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to Craven Street Wealth and everyone who has supported their fundraising over the past year. As a charity that receives no government funding, support like this has a direct impact on the services and opportunities we can provide to children, young people and adults with Down’s syndrome and their families across our community. It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and commitment behind this partnership.”
Tim Maakestad, Director and Head of Distribution at Craven Street Wealth, added:
“It was a privilege to attend the event in Margate and see first-hand the impact 21 Together has within the local community. While the fundraising was led from our Kent region, the wider firm, along with our partners and clients all played a part in helping us reach this total. We are delighted to be able to support such an important local charity and to have built a meaningful relationship over the past year.”
Craven Street Wealth looks forward to continuing its regional charity initiatives and supporting organisations that make a tangible difference within the communities where its colleagues and clients live and work.
