On Friday 5th September, colleagues from our Kent region are stepping out from behind their desks to take on a 21km walking challenge in support of 21 Together, our chosen Kent region Charity of the Year. The charity makes a real difference to the lives of children and young people with Down’s syndrome, and this is just one of the ways we’ll be supporting them throughout the year to help raise awareness and vital funds for their work.
The challenge will start and finish at the charity’s newly opened Hub in Margate, following the Thanet coastline before returning through the town. It is a full day out of the office, covering a distance that will require both stamina and commitment by the team motivated by helping raise awareness of 21 Together’s work and the people they support.
About 21 Together
For nearly a decade, 21 Together has been providing specialist services to empower children and young people with Down’s syndrome to lead happy, fulfilling lives. They work with families from the earliest days of diagnosis, offering guidance and practical support at every stage of a child’s journey into adulthood.
Their work covers a wide range of services, including:
- Speech and language therapy tailored to individual needs, helping children develop vital communication skills
- Education programmes designed to give schools and teachers the tools they need to provide effective, inclusive learning environments.
- Family training and workshops to equip parents and carers with strategies, resources, and confidence to support their child.
- Social and developmental opportunities that encourage independence, build friendships, and develop life skills.
By collaborating with educators, health professionals, and therapists, 21 Together ensures that every child and young person they work with has the best possible chance to reach their potential.
We’ve been fortunate to work with John Keeley, CEO of 21 Together, who has given us a first-hand view of the dedication, expertise, and passion that drives the charity forward.
Why This Challenge Matters
At Craven Street Wealth, we value our role in the community and the importance of giving back. Taking time away from our usual work to take on this challenge is a small way we can help amplify the message and mission of 21 Together.
By walking 21km, we aim to shine a spotlight on how 21 Together helps children and young people with Down’s syndrome, and their families to reach their full potential. We also hope to raise vital funds so the charity can continue its life-changing work, while showing our commitment to supporting causes that make a difference in the communities where we live and work.
